Minerva Antonia Domínguez López

Mayo 31, 1932 - Febrero 4, 2024

May 31, 1932 - February 4, 2024

Minerva Antonia Domínguez López (de Bidó), lovingly known as Mimí, was born in Nagua, Maria Trinidad Sanchez province, Dominican Republic on May 31, 1932. Born into a large extended family of early town members, she was the daughter of Rosa Amelia Lopez Goris and Domingo Dominguez. She married Basilio Bido Belilla in October 1950 with whom she had six children–Rafael (Faelo), Dilema (Lili), Leybi, Hector, Rosa (Rossy), and David.

In 1974 during a revival by well-known evangelist Yiye Avila, she surrendered her life to Christ as her Lord and Savior.  For the next 50 years her main ministry was to pray and intercede for her family and those close to her.  She was a member of Iglesia Metodista Evangelica Nagua for 15 years. In June 1989 she moved to the United States, residing in Lawrence/Methuen, Massachusetts, and congregating at the Hispanic Baptist Church of Lawrence, where she was part of the founding membership. Thanks to her intercession, today most of the three generations under her seek God intentionally. Her greatest legacy was a motherhood anchored in love and the care of others. Mimí loved generously, establishing direct relationships spanning from her oldest children to even her great-grandchildren currently as toddlers. She enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to worship songs, especially those by Julia Javier and Estanislao Marino, having long white hair, and from time to time, indulging with a piece of Dominican guava cake.

She is survived by her younger sister Miriam, her ex-husband Pacho, her six children, Faelo, Lili, Leiby, Hector, Rossy, y David, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren,  her faithful caretakers Charo and Glenny, a large extended family of relatives and friends as well as her faith family. We thank God for her life, her legacy, and her testimony.
